I’m New

We know it’s not easy visiting a new church for the first time. Sometimes you feel like a non-member visiting a country club. You might wonder:
-  Do I belong here?
-  Am I really welcome?
-  Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly?
-  Will I stand out?
-  Will my kids feel welcomed?

We want visiting Cross Creek to be an enjoyable, easy, stress-free, relaxing experience. We want Cross Creek to be “user-friendly” for people, whatever their background, including those who have never been to church before.

Worship Service

You’ll notice that everyone is dressed comfortably, in anything from traditional church clothes to office casual to jeans and sneakers. When you come in the sanctuary, you’ll be given a copy of the “Bulletin” which has the agenda for the day’s service and an outline for the sermon.

The service usually begins with some upbeat music, followed by “welcome and announcements” about upcoming events. There is a time of community where we shake hands with those around us.  More singing will follow led by our music team – which plays in a contemporary style.  We include collecting tithes and offerings as part of our worship and thanksgiving to God.  We want you to feel welcome as our guest – so please let the plate pass.  After the offering, a book is passed down the rows for you to enter any contact information you would like us to have.  We will not flood your mailbox or inbox with unnecessary correspondence.  We just want to be able to keep you updated on events happening in the church.

The message will be based on the Bible, and often includes interesting quotes from contemporary people, songs, or movies. You’ll hear solid Christian theology in intelligent, understandable, and relevant terms.  A prayer and song will follow the message.

After the service, you’ll pick up your kids from their classrooms, and then we hope you’ll stay and meet some of our members.  Church is about God and worship, but it is also about community and friendship, so we hope you will genuinely experience warmth and friendliness at Cross Creek.

We hope you will join us this weekend.
