Cross Creek Church currently meets on Sundays at 401 Greenbriar Road with an Education Hour beginning at 9:30 am and Worship beginning at 10:30 am. (Education hour will not meet during the summer)
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.
We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.
We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenant promises.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.
We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.
We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Cross Creek Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) (http://www.pcanet.org/) and thus relies on and uses the Westminster Confession as a supplemental guide to scripture and instruction manual on doctrine. However in all cases, Scripture takes precedence over the Westminster Confession. OUR HISTORY
In 1996 God called Chuck and Sheree McArthur and their 3 sons to leave the church they had founded in central Florida and move to Northwest St. Johns County to start a new church. That community was exploding with growth—primarily young families who wanted the very best schools for their children even if it meant traveling further to work.
What began as a home Bible Study of strangers quickly became a family of friends. After about 4 months, they began worshipping on Sundays at the Switzerland Point Middle School. By focusing on student ministries and dynamic worship, more and more people found Cross Creek to be a good fit. As they continued to grow they stepped out on faith by buying 10 acres of land just west of the school. In 2007 they moved onto their campus on Greenbriar Road with great joy and thanksgiving.
Cross Creek, is much more than a church that meets on Sundays, it is a community of families that rally around each other to do life together as they seek to make the name of Jesus famous locally and globally.
Our Identity: Cross Creek is a growing community of believers who delight to worship and grow together while reaching their friends and neighbors with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision: To impact the families in Northwest St. Johns County and in all places where we live with a life-transforming encounter and embrace of the Gospel.
